The UK Dance Champs Rules - Back to Basics

Main Rules

£15 per couple 


This section is open to all dancers who know or can learn the 43 basic beginners moves and feel that they can dance them with style and flair.  Every body is welcome to take part. What ever you ability or level. No need to spend ages practicing just turn up with you partner & enjoy the day going back to the basic beginners moves. The judges will be looking for musicality and style expressed by dancers who can make the most basic moves look terrific. NO NEED TO BE A GREAT DANCER JUST DO THE BASIC MOVES WELL !
 
Competition Rules
 
Your dancing in all the heats and finals must consist of no more than the 43 basic LeRoc beginners moves in any combination and with no or minimum variations, it is ok to show innovation and limited adaptively.

If you are not familiar with any of these moves you can find them on the Beginner's DVD: "Accelerate Your Progress" available for sale via our LeRoc Shop.

Interpretive 'Stops' , or dancing at either half-time or double time is permitted providing the move still maintains the correct structure and content. 

The list provided is extensive giving you the freedom to express yourself. Please stick to the permitted/listed moves or you will be disqualified.
 
Rules for this ALL NEW Category, may be subject to change should the judges deem necessary. Please refer to these rules closer to the Competition. Please also refer to the general rules which applies to all categories unless stated.

Important Information
The event is for age 14 and over. Competitor numbers are strictly limited, so places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. LeRoc UK reserve the right to change the programme and competition if necessary without consultation. The event will be recorded by film, video and photograph. These may be used for LeRoc UK promotional purposes without any obligation. No personal video recording is permitted. The organizers accept no responsibility for loss or injury to persons or possessions in relation to event.

NB: The competition itself is open to everybody - dancers and spectators.
