The UK Dance Championship Rules

Applicable to all categories, unless otherwise stated.

1. Air steps will not be allowed, i.e. one foot (of the person being led) must stay below the knee of their partner.
2. A couple will consist of any combination of two people: M/F, M/M or F/F. Points will be awarded for Style, Presentation , Musical Interpretation and Dress.
3. All sections are limited by a min/max number of entrants.
4. 70% of dancing must be recognizable as Modern Jive.
5. If a section is under/over subscribed, a full refund for that section will be given.
6. All competitors are free to enter as many sections as desired/eligible for, energy permitting!
7. Music will be chosen by the organizers.
8. A definite lead and follow should be clearly demonstrated.
9. Definition of a teacher: anyone who teaches or has taught in the last two years with payment, for any form of Jive oriented dance.
10. The judges decision is final.
11. Competitors obviously of a higher standard may be upgraded.
12. LeRoc UK may change any part of the competition or weekend package without warning. Any changes will be advised via our website or on the day.

Important Information

The event is for age 14 and over. Competitor numbers are strictly limited, so places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. LeRoc UK reserve the right to change the programme and competition if necessary without consultation. The event will be recorded by film, video and photograph. These may be used for LeRoc UK & LeRoc2000 promotional purposes without any obligation. No personal video recording is permitted. The organizers accept no responsibility for loss or injury to persons or possessions in relation to event.
